Cosplay/Contest Rules

 Adult Cosplay Contest Guidelines 

Welcome to the Adult Division of the Cosplay Contest! Please review the rules and eligibility carefully before registering. Our goal is to provide a fair, fun, and safe competition for everyone involved.

 General Entry Requirements

  • All participants must have a valid convention badge to enter and compete.

  • All contestants must follow s costume and prop policies.

  • Pre-registration is required. 

  • Solo entries only — group or duo entries are not permitted.

  • Contestant numbers are limited, so we recommend registering as early as possible to secure your spot.

 Craftsmanship Levels & Categories

You must select the correct category that reflects your cosplay experience and craftsmanship level when you register. At least 75% of your costume must be handmade or significantly altered to qualify.

🟢 Novice

  • First-time competitor or someone who has never won any award in an adult-level cosplay competition.

🔵 Intermediate

  • Has won one (1) to two (2) awards at the adult level (e.g., Best Costume, Best Skit, Workmanship, etc.)

  • Has not won any "Best in Show," "Best in Class," or awards in the Master division (including Judge's Awards).

🟣 Master

  • Has received three (3) or more awards in adult-level cosplay competitions.

  • Or has won a "Best in Show", "Best in Class", or any Master-level award.

Note:
You are always welcome to compete in a higher level, but not a lower one. Judges and cosplay staff may move you to a higher category based on your experience and skill if appropriate.

 Eligibility Restrictions

  • Professional cosplayers, costumers, or prop builders may not enter the competition unless specified catagories allow.

  • Staff, volunteers, cosplay guests, judges, and contest hosts are not eligible to compete.

 Contest Check-In & Requirements

  • Contestants must be on-site, in full costume, and check in 1 hour prior to the start of the contest.

  • Failure to check in on time may result in disqualification.

  • If you require an on-stage handler, please notify the check-in desk in advance. Only one handler per contestant is allowed.

 Stage & Safety Guidelines

To ensure the safety of all participants and audience members:

  • No nudity, profanity, or offensive language or symbols on signs, clothing, or spoken presentation.

  • No projectiles of any kind (e.g., darts, water, pellets), aerosols, or pyrotechnics (fire, smoke, fireworks).

  • No jumping on or off the stage at any time.

  • No leaving a mess on stage — all costumes and props must be self-contained.

  • No custom audio will be played for individual contestants during judging or presentation.

 Disqualification & Enforcement

SNFF reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who:

  • Violates the rules above

  • Displays inappropriate or dangerous behavior

  • Fails to check in on time

  • Enters the contest without proper credentials or pre-registration
